There are MS clinics, hospitals and specialist throughout the United States and around the world. In my little part of Alabama we are blessed with a wonderful MS Specialist. Dr. Christopher LaGanke at North Central Neurology Associates located in Cullman, Alabama. I am fortunate to have him overseeing my care and treatments.     The Tysabri infusion is my first IV Disease-Modifying Therapy, which I started May 31, 2019. Before starting this treatment I had blood test for John Cunningham  JC Virus. It was present but I was consider a negative level at 0.21 %  Positive levels start at 0.7%  and is closely monitored for any change. I was rechecked on November 14, 2019 and my new level was 0.28%. It was a small increase but nonetheless it did increase which makes me a little nervous.

I am attaching a link from WebMD.com with more information about the John Cunningham Virus which can cause PML in patients taking Tysabri. The JC Virus can bring on a serious brain infection called progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy, PML.
